This housing development in West Yorkshire comprises two properties owned by close relatives and a third smaller property for one of the occupants’ mothers. All three properties are professionally designed from the exterior fabric of the buildings through to the opulent interiors. Each of the three homes is different, with varied bespoke finishes but they’re designed to complement one another to create a luxury housing development of three uniquely designed properties.
The need to compliment each home required the same RAL colour throughout and because the glazing was such a prominent feature across all three properties, they ideally needed to source all the bespoke glazing from the same company. Very few UK companies can deliver commercial-scale manufacturing and installation while meeting the exacting standards demanded by homes of this pedigree. That’s why we were the obvious supplier for this prestigious, complex development.
There’s much to admire in all three of these new build properties, so we’ve outlined some of the notable & differing features in each, as well as detailed the various products used.
The main difference between the two larger properties is the entrance. Both form a central feature to the front elevation but done in vastly different Ways. This first property has a huge curtain-wall screen dominating the front elevation and giving a distinctly modern appearance to the front of the home.
The returns are glazed also to effectively form a bay that will add even more natural light into the homes entrance area. The screen itself houses a huge pivot door, creating a grand and impressive entrance to this imposing home.
The second property is just as grand but with a more contemporary feel to its counterpart. The entrance still acts as a central feature with a huge pivot door, but this has been installed into stone surrounds, with separate sidelights, and the same sized glazing directly above but with astragal bars to create the popular steel look.
There is also a roof lantern sat atop the entrance columns to ensure like it’s counterpart, the grand entrance to this property is also flooded with natural light from various angles.
Steel look windows and doors add to the character of the second property. A modern new build with modern features throughout but softened by the art deco appearance of the doors and windows.
The steel look has been achieved by using our slim framed doors and windows and then sticking astragal bars onto the glass to create the popular steel appearance across the windows and doors throughout the house.
With wide openings and outward woodland views panoramic sliding doors have been used extensively throughout all three properties.
Our XP Glide system boasts a sightline of just 20mm so is perfect for luxury homes such as these, with the sleek looking system perfect for the extravagant rooms within the house, forming a contemporary wall of glass, coupled with the flexibility to open the house out to the garden.
A set of bi-folding doors have been installed within the bar area. A three panel XP10 that contains an everyday access door for quick in out access plus the ability to completely open the whole three metre space.
Perfectly placed next to the bar and seating area, it will provide a floor to ceiling backdrop when closed and when opened, even if remaining inside the occupants will enjoy a full al fresco feeling with the sun and wind on their faces from the comfort of inside the home, the perfect setting for an evening drink or morning coffee.
Full height glazing is prominent throughout each of the properties. Floor to ceiling glass adds to the opulent feel of the interiors and whether achieved through fixed windows, arched windows, casement windows, French doors, bi-fold or sliding doors, the large format glazing has ensured that each and every room benefiting from them feels light, clean and modern.
This project is a notable example of the diverse ways skylights can be utilised within a property. One roof lantern sits centrally within the gym in what feels like an orangery extension. This central glass feature makes the ceiling feel higher and has allowed for a decorative coffer detail around its perimeter, surrounded by feature lighting within the dropped ceiling to enhance the gym area.
The second, sitting directly above the grand entrance atrium is a unique architectural feature. From looking at the property you could easily miss it but internally it works superbly well. A grand entrance atrium that already feels vast but with the benefit of the sky sitting above to make a beautiful feature, whether looking up in the day, or the night.

The results of this project speak for themselves. All three properties look absolutely stunning from the outside, inside and throughout. The three homes are wonderful examples of brilliant design and like all great homes the glazing is a key feature throughout and fundamental to the exterior and interior design.
Each property benefits from superb external views and the natural surroundings feel a part of the homes design. Wonderfully finished interiors bathed in natural light from all angles with exquisite materials that cause the light to bounce and reflect bringing the natural surroundings into each interior space.
The homes feel bright and flexible. There are vibrant finishes and a combination of subtle and bold features throughout giving each home a real luxury ambience within the various spaces throughout, which all feel connected with the outside space thanks to our bespoke glazed products.
You can imagine the family gatherings and special occasions that will be celebrated and enjoyed within each house and whether our doors and windows are closed and keeping the interiors warm in the winter or are fully open allowing fresh air to flow through the fully connected home and garden in the summer.
