The stunning design of this new build home was a collaboration between the aspiring homeowners, the architects and a well renowned interior design practice based in Cheshire. Having worked alongside us on several large-scale projects the interior designers recommended our products and services, with us as the perfect supplier for this luxury home. It was this recommendation that first led the homeowners to make the short trip across the M62 to visit our Leeds showroom.
Armed with detailed plans of this super-prime new build, the homeowners inspected our product range and liaised with our expert team who outlined how our various products would suit each application and each elevation. Full height, floor to ceiling glazing was a key feature within the plans; along with windows, slim sightline doors and shaped glazing all of which could be viewed, operated and examined within our hugely impressive Leeds showroom. We also showed the homeowners our World Class manufacturing facility to demonstrate our ability to expertly manufacture all the bespoke glazing products that would be so fundamental to the successful execution of this new build home.
On large scale projects such as this a long consultation period can be expected because choosing the right doors and windows for your home is a huge decision. We worked closely with the homeowners, interior designers and architects and as the plans were revised and amended, we requoted as required and worked closely with all parties to ensure that our products would play a key feature in both the homes external design and the various rooms and open place spaces within the house.
We delivered all the bespoke glazing throughout this home and also measured and installed various bespoke and insulated aluminium pressings to conceal the structural steels that sit between our doors and windows. This has created a cohesive look throughout the whole property and has blended our doors and windows together to create stunning statement glazing that spans three floors.
Our aluminium windows play a key role in this property and we have installed a combination of casement and fixed windows throughout. Many of the windows are large and often incorporated into shaped windows, and have even been used as an access door in the games room so tilt and turn windows have been utilised extensively. Tilt and turn windows are ideal for full height windows offering large format glazing that can be tilted in for ventilation and swung inwards to open completely making them perfect for in and out access and fire escape regulations.
An additional benefit is that we use the same profile to make fixed and shaped windows, this ensures consistent sightlines throughout and in a design led project such as this, clean lines and equal sightlines are crucial to ensure the feature windows compliment the beautiful interior design.
This unique property has several large gable roofs, which give the property character whilst internally creating large, vaulted ceilings that have been utilised wonderfully by hanging pendant lights. Our shaped windows sit within these gables to create an architectural feature on both the inside and outside of the property. Distinctive and modern, our shaped windows look fantastic and on the front elevation span the full height of the building from the roof ridge to the ground floor.
Internally, the windows are sat back from the buildings outer fabric, but the huge glass areas allow masses of light to pour into the interior space while framing the outward views.
Large glass areas and slim sightlines are two reasons why sliding doors were well suited to this project. Our XP Glide patio doors boast a sightline of just 20mm and have been installed into various rooms within the house. Seamlessly connecting to our window products, we have positioned the patio doors under shaped windows with the profiles lining through to add yet more architectural features to this fantastic new home.
The RAL colour of the doors and windows in this project is RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, you can learn more by clicking on the thumbnails below.
The finished home is stunning. A modern family home built with a mixture of building materials and traditional features such as the Yorkshire stone brickwork and the feature timber gable frame that sits beautifully in front of the aluminium shaped windows sat atop our slim sliding doors.
The rear elevation is arguably slightly more modern but retains the warm and inviting feeling achieved on the front. The dominant feature within the rear elevation is our twin track sliding door that sits below a shaped gable mirroring and flowing through from the front elevation. This has been expertly designed to allow the homeowners and visitors to look through the whole house from the front elevation balcony. Leading into the house from the balcony is an opulent snug area that can be walked straight through, out onto the level patio and external dining area and down the stairs onto the lower outdoor area, surrounding by a water feature that leads out onto the lawned garden.
The interiors are as impressive as the exterior building fabric. Expertly designed spaces that flow into others from the bar and games room area to the kitchen and snug, this is a multi-functional home that can be enjoyed in many ways. The key role of our products is to compliment both the inside and outside spaces while connecting the two and this has been achieved throughout the entire property.
This home is a fantastic piece of architecture, it has a great design with inside and outside living very much in mind and is also a great example of how an architect and interior designer can connect incredible design with expert suppliers to create beautiful spaces and amazing homes, just like this one.
