This exquisite and imaginative and project in Essex was expertly designed and overseen by our friends at Clear Architects.

Loughton based Clear Architects were challenged with transforming a 1950s bungalow into a stunning, modern three-storey home on the fringes of the Essex Green Belt. They took the opportunity to design a modern home that makes the most of the stunning views of London and the surrounding countryside.

As well as making the most of the views and maximising light within the property some of the other design features include:

• Moving the accommodation to the side elevation, which overlooks both the fields and London, which previously been closed off by the original building orientation.
• Creating an angled main entrance to form space for a grand central staircase, which is housed within a feature render wrap, flooded with natural light thanks to our glazed, aluminium curtain walling.
• The split slate cladding provided a textured feature to the entrance and related to the black slate roof of the property, tying the colour palette together.

The design led approach to this home’s construction meant Express Bi-Folding Doors were the ideal company to manufacture and install the bi-folding doors and windows for Clear Architects as we are one of the few specialist manufacturers who can manufacture an extensive range of bespoke aluminium products to the high standards required for distinctive luxury homes like this one.

We surveyed, manufactured and installed all of the impressive glazing showcased within this project.
