Technological enhancements in glass does help combat this but solar reflective coatings can only go so far. Blinds and screens are the best ways to reduce the summers powerful sun and we offer two premium shading solutions.
Integral Blind Solutions
Integral blinds are the perfect compliment to our range of bespoke bi-folding doors and windows, offering a sleek & contemporary screening solution to our panoramic glazing products. We proudly use the market leading Uni-blinds range of integral blinds for our products as their contemporary design means that the operational components of the Uni-Blinds are in the head rail and do not require an unsightly additional frame which diminishes the viewable glass area.
In addition to controlling light, heat and privacy from outside, integral blinds installations are low-maintenance. As they are contained within the double glazing unit itself, the blinds require no cleaning, always appear new and are protected from damage, making them great for busy family homes.
Manually Operated Blinds
There are two options for manually operated Uni-Blinds, one is operated by an external cord. The operation itself is a patented magnetic system for manually raising and tilting venetian blinds incorporated within a double glazed unit. The cord is held lightly under tension by a cord tensioner and fully complies with the British Blind and Shutter Association – ‘Make it safe’ campaign.
The second and more popular manual option is the SV slider version, which contains a guide track down the right or left-hand side of the double glazed unit, a magnetic slider runs up and down the guide track allowing the slats to be raised and tilted. The blind is raised and lowered by moving the slider up or down and is tilted by slightly lifting or lowering the same slider. These cost-effective options are supplied
Solar Powered Integral Blinds
As people continue to look for environmentally friendly glazing solutions, solar powered Uni-Blinds continue to grow in popularity. These blinds are adjusted through a swipe controller or a remote, with the mechanism powered by an external solar panel. Should we have a cloudy spell, an internal battery will provide the system with power, which can be topped up with a mobile phone charger or next time the sun comes out.
The system can be fitted quickly and easily and is suitable to all types of window frames, even existing ones; no wires or electrical contacts are required. The installation procedure itself is simpler than our electrical systems, and can be carried out with or without an electrician, and can help reduce your home’s energy consumption.
Electronically Operated Blinds
Mains powered, motorised systems use a brushless motor coupled with a control unit, allowing the simultaneous operation of several blinds and the accurate tilting of the slats. The motor and the entire electronic blind management system are positioned within the head rail, on a specially designed slide that will reduce vibration, making the system almost silent.
Activated by means of either wall-mounted push buttons or remote control, electric Uniblind installations are seamlessly integrated into your home decor.
Commercial sized blinds
Our integral blind solutions are best suited to our bi-fold doors and windows, but we can install oversized integral blinds into large windows and our lift and slide door the XP Glide R.
Commercial sized blinds need to be fully wired to operate correctly so we can offer electronically operated integral blinds into large window panels, which does look great when installed and our twin track XP Glide R sliding doors.
If you have slim sightline sliding doors like our XP Glide then our solar powered awning is the best option for solar shading.
Solar Powered Awnings
What better solution for a product that is used when the sun is at its hottest, than to use that very sun as the power source for the products operation. By shifting to a solar product, you are making a conscious choice that offers long term benefits.
One of the main benefits of these contemporary awnings is that there is no hard wiring required and shading protection up to six metres wide and four metres out can be achieved with 2 solar panels and one battery unit.

A great looking and contemporary way to add solar shading onto your property that has won the internationally renowned Red Dot Award 2025 and the prestigious iF Design Award, a recognition for the perfect balance between innovation, aesthetics and functionality.
Integrated LED Lighting
Integrated lighting adds to the contemporary look of the awning and creates a feature whether the awning is open or closed. If you want to add integrated LED lighting then a second battery is added along with four additional solar panels. This configuration ensures that your awning and LED lighting can function separately and optimally.
Dimmable LED lighting is available in the housing fixed to your property, in the folding arms which are visible when the awning is open or in the front bar of the awning itself. Opting for the LED in the housing or front bar will mean that even when closed your awning will add a decorative and modern feature to your property and will add ambient lighting during the evenings.
A wide range of colours & smart technology
The awning casing and bars are available in over 300 RAL colours which can be combined with more than 300 different sun-resistant nylon fabrics. Additional options include an integrated wind sensor that will close the awning in inclement weather and we can even add a sun sensor that will automatically open the awning on hot days to help keep your interior space cool.
