Background
This project in Kent was planned for a huge overhaul with a completely new design, larger footprint and a more modern aesthetic. With designs in place, the homeowners travelled to the Homebuilding & Renovating show in London to source the best products and find the right supplier to provide all the glazing required for their new development project. Impressed with the products we had on display the homeowners then took the time to visit our Weybridge showroom to view our 20mm sightline sliding doors in more detail along with the various other products that would eventually play a key role in their new home.
What we delivered
We supplied all the glazing in this property from the front to the back including a roof lantern, twin and triple track sliding doors and the aluminium windows throughout. We carried out a full site survey and measured for all the bespoke products and installed them in accordance with the contractors build schedule including the new front door that was added as a second phase of the project.
Slim sightline sliding doors
The modern and open plan design of this renovation lent itself really well to large patio doors. We installed two sets of our popular XP Glide system, a twin track in the living area and a large three panel door in the kitchen. The XP glide integrates perfectly into the property with its slender outer frame recessed into the floor and concealed by internal plaster and external render. The narrow 20mm interlock is the main feature however, a slender vertical aluminium profile that despite its inherent strength allows crystal clear views out to the garden.
The sleek appearance of the sliding doors is complimented by the steel bar handles that are finished in a textured black to match and blend into each doors master panel.
Smarts Signature door
The Signature door in the Harley design is both classic and timeless but the colour choice of RAL 9007 gives it a contemporary feel that matches particularly well with the graphite knocker and door handles. Smarts Signature doors are excellent quality but with a modern price tag and are available in a huge range of styles and custom options. We offer these doors on a supply and fit basis, but you can also configure and order the doors online via our sister company Express Bi-folds Direct.
Aluminium casement windows
Our Scenic casement windows play a key role in the look and feel of this modern property. The window systems flush outer frame, flush sashes and slim sightlines were crucial to not only allow natural light into each room but to ensure that thick and clunky frames did not detract from the modern appearance of the house.
Our Scenic casement windows offer various benefits including clean lines, slim sightlines, great thermal performance and secured by design accreditation. A great feature for our customer though is that not only do we offer flush outer frames and opening sashes as standard, but we have different sized outer frames so whether installed into stone mullions, replacing existing or installed into a rendered property like this, we can tailor our windows to suit each property perfectly. The rendered finish on this property lends itself to our deeper outer frame, which allows for the frame to be concealed by render and internal plaster work without affecting the opening window sashes – the perfect solution for rendered or cladded properties.
