Orangeries are a form of conservatory but typically of more substantial proportions and with at least a partially solid roof. Orangeries are often built with more brickwork, with full-height brick pillars creating a feeling of luxury, whereas a conservatory continues to be seen as more of a garden room, with large amounts of glass.

A good orangery design can also be both impactful, and grand. An orangery tends to use height in its structure, which will instantly create an air of elegance. This orangery extension in Weybridge is a wonderful example of why this method of extending a home has become so popular. The new orangery truly is an extension of the living space, with the open-plan living area, leading out to the new dining area positioned directly below our Skyline roof lantern, surrounded by the inside, outside flexibility of our bi folding doors.

The orangery consists of two XP View bi-folding doors, with a five-panel door at 4700mm x 2405mm, & a smaller three-panel door at 2910mm x 2405mm. The minimalist Skyline roof lantern is 1740mm x 3240mm, and all of the products are powder coated to RAL 7036 Platinum Grey. We offer really flexible orangery solutions, as you can see here bi-folding doors are ideal for linking the orangery to the garden, but we can also offer our sliding doors and our various windows systems to equally stunning and practical effect.

This new orangery ties in seamlessly with the rest of the home, which not only looks great but has created a flexible new space that can be enjoyed all year round.

We offer two different types of roof lanterns, both of which are ideal for orangeries such as this:

Skyline roof lantern – with slimmer rafters & an architectural appearance this roof lantern is perfect for the most discerning homeowner.

EOS roof lantern – a more cost-effective solution, the unique design of the EOS roof lantern means fewer spars are required, meaning larger glass areas, ideal for clients who want maximum glass and minimal frames.

As well as these two great products we also offer a range of skylights ideal for flat roofs, and of course, various bi-folding door, sliding door & windows products.

The supreme build standard of this orangery extension was completed by London based building contractors Double H whom we have worked with several times over the years, including the stunning Kingsgate House.
