Background
This large newly built property sits as a plot within a farm redevelopment that has been expertly constructed by our friends at Oxford based Bayswood Construction. Having worked together for many years on various projects including renovations, extensions & large build projects such as this, we were the obvious choice to manufacture and install all the bespoke windows and doors to complete plot one of this multi-property project.
As a repeat trade customer Bayswood have their own designated account manager here at Express and after a detailed consultation in our Weybridge showroom it was decided to use our slim framed Scenic windows and our slim and cost-effective patio door the XP Slide 25 for this impressive first plot.
What we delivered
We carried out the survey alongside the building contractors from Bayswood Construction and supplied all the aluminium windows in a dual colour finish. The front elevation offers a fairly traditional aesthetic with timber structural supports, stone windows cills, and an angular bay window but the RAL colour 7021 Black Grey gives the property a distinctive look and a nice contrast to the light-coloured stone construction. Internally the white finish of the windows is softer and blends in with the internal finishings, which allows our slim framed sliding door to stand out as a central feature throughout.
The rear elevation continues the contemporary theme with a third of the rear elevation finished in a dark timber cladding and the dormer windows finished in a very modern zinc cladding. The main house has the appearance of a traditional town house but with two impressive extensions, one of which is dominated by two large sliding doors, which act as huge picture windows with sightlines of just 25mm separating the two panes of full height glass.
A gateway to the landscaped garden
The central feature within the home is our large triple track sliding door. The glass door is positioned in the middle of the main house as part of a large open plan kitchen, dining & living area and perfectly frames the Oxfordshire farmland views. The exterior area has been perfectly landscaped with an immaculate outdoor social and play area, which flows through perfectly from the inside of the house, creating a continuous floor level that flows out from the house to seamlessly connect the home and garden.
The minimal sightlines of just 25 are why sliding doors are becoming so popular in luxury housing developments such as this. An impressive façade of glass that makes the room feel bigger and brighter, whilst allowing the functionality to slide two panels to the side to instantly open the home out to the garden.
Another superbly executed collaboration
This new build home looks quite different from the front when compared to the back but both elevations are equally impressive. The combination of stone, timber & our aluminium doors and windows has created an impressive first plot within this development. Internally it has been finished to the highest standard with a mix of modern and traditional materials to create a light filled & contemporary home with many of the rooms benefiting from full height glazing coupled with some of the slimmest frames available on the market.
The large garden acts as an extension to the home, and inside to out space that will be enjoyed and utilised during the warmer months.
