BACKGROUND

The owners of this luxury detached property in Yorkshire started their journey towards building their dream self-build by calling into our Flagship Leeds showroom along with their architect. Together they talked through their plans with our Sales team, whilst exploring the premium products all displayed within the state-of-the-art show houses inside our showroom. Looking to create a modern, open-plan home they tweaked their plans based on what they liked in the showroom and the project moved forward with a new house filled with aluminium windows, bi-folding doors, a shaped, glazed gable, solar powered integral blinds & a modern, slab door kitchen from Prestons German kitchens.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

The requirements for this new-build meant that our Leeds showroom was the ideal place for both the architect & the end users to visit.  The rare opportunity to see two companies in one place with Express Bi-Folding Doors products all showcased around various layouts and kitchen extensions, it became easy for the customers to envisage how their home would look with our doors and windows making up a large proportion of it. We supplied various casement windows throughout the property, as well as an inset lean-to roof installed into the houses tiled roof.

The rear elevation in particular is dominated by Express Bi-Folding doors. Three sets of our XP View bifolds span the full width of the open plan kitchen, living & dining area. A fourth set meets on a structural corner sat below a huge, gable shaped frame. The new kitchen area has been expertly designed into zones by the architect all screened by bi-folding doors which bring light and flexibility to each space. The living and dining area sit behind a three-panel bi-folding door. The main kitchen & breakfast bar leads straight out to a two-section bifold. The two folding doors in the snug is the space, which will be enjoyed most in the Summer. Both sets of folding doors open away from the corner post to create a huge opening that flows to the external patio area. Bespoke insulated pressings have been used to cloak off both the structural corner post & the steel between the returning bi-folding door & the shaped window above. to create a dramatic feature, very much in-keeping with this contemporary new space, whilst also blending the structure and three separate aluminium frames together.

The neutral colours’ and soft grey’s used internally compliment our anthracite grey products perfectly, with the doors and windows really popping bold colour into this glamourous space.

The results of this ambitious self-build are stunning, a luxury open-plan kitchen setting that dreams are made of. The whole property is bathed in natural light thanks to the huge array of glazing within it. The kitchen diner can all be screened by our solar powered integral blinds. Ideal for this minimalist space, the internal blinds ensure that no curtain rails or clunky bolt-on blinds were required, situated within the glass the blinds never need cleaning and simply fold away with the doors when they’re opened.
