Our “Home of the Year” Winner Announced!

The nationwide search for our “Home of the Year” has come to an end. Thank you to everyone who entered – we loved all the entries – but unfortunately there can only be one winner. And after a people’s vote and a judging panel, we have chosen.

Congratulations to Debbie Goodwin, of Congleton, whose home was chosen by our judges as our winner. She has not only won the prestigious title of Express’ “Home of the Year”, but the prize also includes a £500 voucher for John Lewis.

Debbie commented, “We are absolutely thrilled to be announced as the winning entry for Express Bi-folding Door’s first ever Home of the Year competition.

“It’s a real honour and completely unexpected as there were so many beautiful entries. A huge amount of work and thought went into our renovation which was a family project.

“To know that others can also see the beauty in the redesign and specifically the glazing layout, which I am so proud to say I designed myself, it really is the cherry on top of our 60’s Bungalow cake.”

Debbie’s winning entry was in the ‘Best use of Glazing’ category but three of her other entries also made the shortlist including ‘Best House Exterior’ and ‘Best Living Space’.

The competition judges included Deborah Stone, Property Editor for the Daily Express and Beth Murton, Acting Editor of Real Homes Magazine. A public vote was launched to decide the shortlist, before the judges were asked to score the 10 entries with the highest volume of votes.

Steve Bromberg, Managing Director at Express Bi-folding Doors, commented: “We’d like to thank everyone who entered our first ‘Home of the Year’ award and extend congratulations again to our winner, Debbie – her home beautifully showcases a fantastic use of glazing as well as great interior design. After its success this year we’d like to run the competition annually, so there’s still hope for anyone that missed out this time!”
