Express gets second Prime Ministerial visit in five years

The UK’s Prime Minister paid a visit to Express Bi-folding Doors HQ to see first-hand how a successful British manufacturer operated.
Our family-owned business had a record year thanks to our customers’ interest in our game-changing products and this is the second prime ministerial visit we have received in five years. We showed the Prime Minister around our HQ site including our World Class manufacturing facility where he took the time to speak to our workers as we outlined the recent investments we’ve made into the facility. We also couldn’t resist introducing the Prime Minister to Express’ very own Boris, our Managing Director’s French bulldog.
£1.65million investment in 2022
As part of major investment in our business, worth around £1.65m, we are launching four major new products, a new showroom in Surrey and have just completed the installation of two cutting-edge CNC machines to streamline how the factory runs and to reduce lead times.
We are excited about the future and our latest products, including one which we feel will be the best in the world.

It’s an exciting time for the business and we’re not standing still – our popular XP View product line is being completely overhauled and modified to create what we believe will be the highest specification and most aesthetically pleasing bi-folding door system available in the world.
“The system has been designed with a stunning flush frame concept and slender sightlines of just 90mm. Despite industry leading slim sightlines, our individual panels can house a glazed unit weighing up to 150kg and be made up to 1500mm wide and three metres high.
“The thermal and weather performance of the door is outstanding, while retaining its beautiful contemporary appearance. We’ve kept the effortless, smooth operation of the XP View and we’re extremely excited about this product.”
The XP88 is the second bi-folding door system that we are set to launch this year, which will replace our trusty XP10 system. The XP88 is a high-spec system, but with a lower price tag than their new XP View – opening up the market even further.
Fully adjustable, it boasts excellent thermal and weather performance and sports a sightline of just 88mm making it the slimmest bi-folding door product within our portfolio and within the UK market-place.
Steve added: “The engineering of the product means wide and tall doors are still possible, but this is the perfect bi-folding door for small apertures, replacement installations or dark spaces where a slender framed bi-folding can truly transform and connect your interior and exterior space.”
New Weybridge Showroom opening on the 19th May
The new products will be centre stage at Express Bi-Folding Doors’ new £400,000 Weybridge showroom which will open its own doors this May at Brooklands Business Park, near Mercedes-Benz World with confirmed opening guests including TV presenters George Clarke & Linda Barker plus movie star Warwick Davis.
