About This Project

The main feature of the downstairs living area is the impressive large span of aluminium sliding doors.

The doors span a width of 9.5metres running the complete width of the house.

The newly laid external patio area and artificial grass lawn sit directly above subterranean room which has been expertly created and converted into a cinema room and gym area.

The refurbished property now boasts a dual coloured roof lantern which is sat on an elevated frame to allow even more light into the property.

The renovations have included new aluminium windows throughout including three bay windows at the front of the property.

The sliding door itself is a triple track three panel patio door with an additional panel fixed to the front of the track. This additional panel allows all three remaining panels to slide behind it creating a 75% clear opening as opposed to the two thirds clear opening which is the maximum created with a standard triple track sliding patio door.

The benefits of sliding doors in comparison to folding doors are the minimal aluminium sightlines and the large glass areas which are not broken up by numerous folding panels.

Perfectly demonstrated here these huge sliding glass panels are ideal when attempting to create a modern open plan living space.

The entire house benefits from a sophisticated lighting control system including mood lighting and zonal light controls.

Both the design and building work for the transformation of this property was carried out by IA Building Contractors in South East England.

The imagination of both the architect and the client, as well as the undoubted skills of the building contractors has created a home which is unrecognizable from the original property. It has virtually doubled in size and is a very impressive project which both Express Bi-folding Doors and IA Building Contractors are delighted to have been involved with and to add to our project portfolios.
