A Grand Garden House

The demand and market for garden rooms is growing all the time. With space in our homes at a premium, and the fact that an outdoor room can increase your properties value, it is a trend that is sure to continue.

We have supplied products to hundreds of our customers intended to be used in their garden rooms and work with several manufacturers of pre-fabricated and bespoke garden room structures, however this installation in Essex is certainly the grandest garden room that we have ever had the privilege of working on.

Sat at the bottom of the beautifully landscaped garden is a distinctive architect-designed building boasting a bar area, gymnasium, swimming pool and sun terrace as well as an array of architectural aluminium products from Express which have been combined to stunning effect.

The core product throughout this installation is our premium folding door the XP View. In total, five bi-folding door sets have been manufactured for this home, the largest to close off/open up the swimming pool area, as well as four additional sets which span the full width of the rear elevation.

The shape of this building is unique which due to the versatility of our products created an opportunity to flood even more light into this new structure with two shaped frames manufactured and installed to suit the pitch of the two sloping roofs.
The flat area on the roof houses a massive roof lantern with a total area in excess of 12 square metres, which boasts high performance solar reflective glass. Externally, the white lantern sits perfectly against the roof fascias, but it is internally where the benefits can really be seen. The whole internal area benefits massively from the natural light gained from the huge amount of glazing housed within it.

From floor to ceiling glazed doors, to the large glass roof lantern above, this renovation has created an energy efficient dedicated space away from the house which is many homeowners dream. We don’t expect to carry out many more garden room installations on this scale, but we do believe the general garden room demand will continue to grow and we look forward to helping many more of our customers in creating their own private oasis within their gardens also.
