This traditional property in Harrogate was built in 1912 and although it still contained lots of character, it was in real need of some extensive redevelopment work. Today it is almost unrecognisable as it has been revamped, remodelled, and extended creating a large family home which is packed full of premium architectural features throughout.
Both Express Bi-folding Doors and Express in the Home were heavily involved in this project with Express in the Home supplying all of the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furnishings as well as designing and completing the unique BBQ area outside, while Express Bi-folding Doors manufactured and installed all of the glazed elements within the property. The video below gives a guided tour of the property, whilst detailing some of the unique features of the products that we have supplied and installed.
This home has been finished to the highest specification and is packed full of our window and roofing products. The entrance boasts a glazed atrium above a solid aluminium front door, coupled next to large aluminium casement windows creating a real grand entrance to this grand property.
Huge bay windows are the main features within the living and dining rooms and several of the bedrooms, but our products are really showcased in and around the kitchen extension. The kitchen area is really enhanced by a huge roof lantern sat on bespoke glazed gable frames at each end. The contemporary bi-folding doors and flat sash aluminium windows enhance it further all combining perfectly within the large modern open plan kitchen.
The bi-folding doors have been measured and finished perfectly with the internal floor tiles running completely flush into the track at the foot of the doors followed by a very slight step down to the patio area outside. This detail is perfect as it looks great and benefits from excellent weather ratings also. As our products are all bespoke we can manufacture doors with the bottom track perfectly flush to the internal floor level, creating full floor to ceiling glazing, which along with really slim sightlines and large folding panels creates huge areas of glass which look superb when the doors are closed.
The bi-folding doors and windows all benefit from solar powered integral blinds which can be controlled by a remote control or by touch on the blinds battery packs.
The home automation, cinema room and lighting design throughout this property was expertly installed by our friends at Clearly Automated, and the external rendering which bought the property back to life was carried out by External Coatings.
The completion of this project caught the eye of many people in Harrogate and as such led directly to another stunning project in the charming North Yorkshire town, which is now featured on our website as Rutland Road.
Whilst liaising with the home owner of Rutland Road we recommended both Clearly Automated & External Coatings so after collaborating on several great projects we commissioned them to carry out their services within our amazing flagship showroom The Home Space from Express.
You can find information on the showroom and their involvement within it by clicking here.

Below is the Express in the Home video of the same project but focusing on their contribution to this wonderful property, watch the video below if you have a potential interest in a new kitchen, bathroom or bedrooms within your upcoming project:
We love this project so much that we decided to replicate something similar very within our new showroom The Home Space from Express. Within the showroom is a full front elevation very similar to this property, with large double bay winddows but with a contemporary glass atrium, which will give visitors the opportunity to see first-hand the type of dramatic feature statement that can be incorporated into their upcoming project.
