2017 has proved to be a very exciting year for Express, as well as a visit from the Prime Minister we also received three exciting requests from Barclays Bank.
The first was to allow Barclays to host an access to the factory floor seminar within our flagship showroom in Leeds. The event saw manufacturing Companies from across the region attend the event to hear from our Sales Director Mark Phillips, and Barclays Head of Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics Mike Rigby giving an overview of the findings from Barclays Powering On report, where they examined the extent to which UK manufacturers are investing in technologies to increase their energy resilience and manage their energy use. Mike Rigby’s speech was then followed by a tour of our manufacturing facility so attendees could see for themselves the level of quality and attention to detail that goes into the manufacture of our bespoke products and discover how our highly-trained team utilise cutting-edge technology and machinery to manufacture the most impressive aluminium glazing products on the market.
The event was a huge success with visitors being blown away by both our showroom and manufacturing operation, which directly led to another exciting visit from Barclays. In July, we were honoured to welcome Jes Staley, Group Chief Executive of Barclays, into The Home Space. The visit was arranged by Barclays so Jes could see the calibre of showroom and manufacturing facility that the support from Barclays has helped us achieve. We took him on a walk-round of the site, giving him a first-hand experience of how our products are made and what our level of investment looks like in real time. It was Jes’ first visit to the Yorkshire region since taking up the senior position within Barclays (we hope he loved it!) and his team even brought with them a journalist from the New York Times!
As well showcasing Express Bi-Folding Doors as a client to Jes Staley, Barclays have used Express as their own client case study for their corporate banking services for their own marketing material. The client case study positions us alongside other well-known Barclays’ client’s success stories such as The Premier League, AEG, Camelot, Centre Parcs, Comic Relief, and Pure Gym amongst other renowned brands. The online case study can be view by clicking this link, it resulted in Barclays creating a series of videos to showcase our partnership, which can be viewed below:
We’ve continually reinvested back into our business, with Barclays’ asset finance allowing us to invest into our factory and manufacturing facilities, especially our cutting-edge machinery. This means we can always ensure we manufacture and deliver the highest quality of products to our customers.
With 45% of our customer transactions being processed through Barclaycard, we’re dedicated to maintaining our relationship with Barclays and are committed to continued growth as we head into our next phase of expansion.
Starting out in 2007 with £1.2million turnover, we couldn’t have envisaged the level of growth that 10 years would bring. We are now a £24million turnover business, continuing to grow year on year and consistently investing back into our business.
